Student Employee of the Year 2014-2015

Ana Zarate, a student in the Medical Lab Technician Program at the Luverne Center, has been chosen as the Minnesota West Community & Technical College Student Employee of the Year for 2014-2015. Ana is employed as a student laboratory assistant and serves the Medical Laboratory Technician, Surgical Technician and Medical Assistant Programs.

Ana is a second year student nominated by her supervisor, Rita Miller. In her nomination Rita highlighted many of Ana’s strengths – dependability, being a quick and efficient employee with a superior quality of work. Rita also commented on Ana’s professionalism and the level of respect Ana demonstrates for her peers and other faculty. 

Rita had the following to say about Ana: “I am so fortunate to have Ana as a work study; especially this semester…she does an excellent job. I can always depend on her.  Overall she is a smart, kind, hard worker, and such a pleasant person.”

This is the first year Minnesota West has recognized a College wide Student Employee of the Year. All Student Employee supervisors were asked to submit nominations for student employees who consistently go above and beyond, warranting particular recognition for their job performance. We would like to congratulate Ana Zarate, as well as all of the nominees.
