Shane Kindt Story

Shane Kindt, a graduate of Networking Specialist program at the Jackson Campus in 2001, has created his own career path using versatility and resourcefulness in planning and leading IT initiatives.  

Minnesota West was fortunate to have him teach as an adjunct in 2005-6.  He spent his first years after graduating becoming versed in a breath of technologies along with a constant awareness and adoption of emerging IT innovations. A respected leader, he is not only focused on short and long term strategies but is a big-picture thinker. Shane is poised and engaging in his communication style, a mentor and trainer of large, world-class, cross disciplinary technical teams.

After gaining practical experience working for such companies as Gateway Computers, Southwest Wireless and Trango, Mike Inverso Sales Engineer, Trango, had this to say about his work,  “Shane has the perfect combination of technical and customer relations skills.”  

His next positon was a network engineer for Trace Systems. This is where his skills and versatility were hard to match. He was a senior network engineer contracting in Afghanistan for the US Army. Said by Matthew Laguna from the Network Engineer Army Human Resource Command, “I had the opportunity to work with Shane at two separate locations in Afghanistan. I feel he is one of the most competent and skilled engineers I have worked with. Shane was always willing to work and go the extra mile. He would tackle any issue or difficult task with outstanding results. He had an infectious positive attitude and never complained. Shane would be a valuable asset to any employer.”  

He worked in Afghanistan for two years.  He came back to be with his wife and young family for nearly a year working as a networking specialist followed by another 13 months in Afghanistan.  

Back home in in Minnesota for two years, he is now a global network manager for Velocity Technology Solutions in the greater Minneapolis-St Paul areas. Velocity is headquartered in New York with facilities also in Seattle, Denver, Tampa, London (Canada), and Glasgow.
