To help manage the overwhelming cost of textbooks, our team has implemented several initiatives through our online bookstore.
- Book Rental Program: For many courses, we have instituted a book rental program. This allows students to rent textbooks at a fraction of the cost of purchasing them outright, significantly reducing their overall expenses each semester.
- Book Vouchers: We offer a system called book vouchers, which allows students to charge the cost of their textbooks against their financial aid. This ensures that students can obtain the necessary materials without having to pay out of pocket upfront, making the process of acquiring books more seamless and stress-free.
- Cost-Conscious Book Selection: We work closely with faculty to encourage the selection of textbooks that are less costly. By choosing affordable options, including open educational resources (OER) and other budget-friendly alternatives, we aim to alleviate the financial burden on students while still providing high-quality educational materials.
- Payment Plan Integration: To further assist students, we allow students to add the cost of textbooks to their existing payment plans. This means that instead of paying for books all at once, students can spread out the cost over time, making it easier to manage their finances.
These initiatives are part of our ongoing commitment to support students in their academic journey by making essential resources more accessible and affordable.
Book Information
- Books being shipped will be sent ground shipping to the address on file in your shopping profile (please double check for accuracy). Shipping is a $10.00 fee on shipped orders.
- If a you choose on-campus pickup (at Worthington campus only) books must be picked up within 10 days of the order date or we will ship and charge the account for shipping.
- Ground shipping is approximately 4-7 business days. (48 hours in-house processing + ground shipping) Ground shipping is limited to the United States. International students, please call the store for a pricing quote for USPS.

Rental returns can be dropped off or shipped to the Minnesota West Worthington campus address by the due date.

To view quotes for buy-back prices on books please visit the online store and enter the ISBN numbers (the 13-digit number on the back of your textbook). PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. We will do our very best to honor price quotes. For Damaged/Defective/no-value books – Minnesota West will dispose of these and will not return them to you.
Are you eligible to use a book voucher?
If you submitted a valid FAFSA to Minnesota West, you may be eligible to use a book voucher to purchase required textbooks. If your financial aid does not completely cover the cost of your books, you will be required to pay the balance owed. To use a book voucher please visit the online book site and at the payment processing screen, select payment type "Fin Aid/3rd pty/VA/PSEO/Nelnet". You will need to know your 8-digit numerical ID. When making your purchase, if you are eligible, the system will allow the charge to be placed on your student account.

Original receipts MUST accompany all returns.
Refunds of books, kits and/or required course materials will be granted only during the drop/add period and provided the following criteria are met:
Do not write in your books prior to attending classes. Loose-leaf and shrink-wrapped bundles are not returnable if opened. Study guides and solution materials are not returnable.
A marked book or carelessly handled book is a used book. All new materials must be in new/unused condition.
Books purchased after the posted return policy dates are NOT returnable.
Returns are refunded in the same manner as the original purchase.
We are unable to issue duplicate receipts. Keep your receipt in a safe place.
