Constitution Day provides an opportunity to learn about the Constitution’s role in shaping the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizens and its continuing relevance in modern society.
We honor this important tradition through engaging events that explore both the creation of the Constitution and the founding principles of our nation. These events provide a chance to deepen your understanding of the Constitution, its impact on modern society, and your role as a citizen in upholding its values.

- “Did you Know” signs posted on campus

Granite Falls - September 16 & 17
- Stop by the Constitution Facts Table on the Granite Falls campus to grab some tasty treats!
- Complete and submit the Constitution Fact Quiz for a chance to win — one lucky student will be selected through a random drawing.
- The prize? A Bluejay Nest Gift Certificate to treat yourself!
Pipestone - Constitution Crossword Puzzle – completers go in a drawing to win a sweatshirt. Drawing on the 17th. Constitution Facts table in the main hallway.
Worthington - Word Find Puzzle – completers get a treat.

About Constitution Day
The Constitution of the United States—just four pages long—created a new government more than 200 years ago, yet continues to shape the lives of every American profoundly. On Constitution Day, observed annually on September 17, the United States pauses to commemorate the drafting of this remarkable document. Join us in reflecting on the Constitution’s historical significance and enduring impact on our nation today.
Creating a New Nation
The Constitution marked a turning point in American history, establishing a government for a fledgling nation. Though it provided a strong framework, one document could not address every issue. In response, the Bill of Rights was written, ensuring citizens a foundation of protected liberties under the new government. These first ten amendments set forth critical expectations, guaranteeing individual freedoms such as free speech, the right to a fair trial, and protection from unreasonable search and seizure.
As the nation has grown and evolved, so has the Constitution. New amendments have been introduced, reflecting the country’s changing values and responsibilities over time. Like a child maturing into adulthood, the Constitution has adapted to help guide the nation’s progress, ensuring that the ideals of justice and liberty continue to thrive.
