The Granite Falls Campus Child Development students had a busy Spring Semester! A big part of the Child Development is hands-on learning, and opportunities for students to network and get ideas from professionals in the field that they can implement when working with children.

Last week, Child Development students traveled to University of Wisconsin-Stout at Menomonie for two days filled with opportunities to enrich their Early Childhood education. The Child Development students joined over 1000 other participants, and chose from among 80 different workshops ranging from sign language to infant mental health to Kindergarten readiness.

They met with the Museum's Education Coordinator, who explained the philosophy guiding the creation of the exhibits.

This was offered not only to Child Development students, but also to our partner teachers who host Field Experience students. It was a beautiful sunny day, and everyone gained a new appreciation of incorporating nature into classroom activities, as well as ideas for using the outdoors as a classroom.
