Culture Corner Presents Where is Home?

4/29/16
Worthington Campus

The Culture Corner which is a partnership with Minnesota West and the Nobles County Integration Collaborative will present Where is Home? on Tuesday, May 3, 2016  from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Culture Corner Room 501 on the Worthington Campus.

Where is Home? is a dramatic presentation of excerpts from letters written by a German immigrant to America in the late 1800s telling his story of struggles and successes. His experience has similarities and contrast to immigrant experiences today. Discussing the parallels can yield greater understanding. Jim Krapf portrays the character of JurnJakob Swehn with the assistance two other actors taking several roles. The nine episodes in the 30 minute presentation reveal the “mensch” (the internal character) of Jurnjakob in relationship with the old country, his family, work, failures and achievements, people in need, and his sense of home.”

A certificate of attendance will be provided for two clock hours. This event is open to the public. For more information contact Le Lucht at 507-372-3426 or Jaidy Kolander at 507-376-3300.
