Instructors Receive QM Certification

Minnesota West instructors, Judy Tebben, Laine Rieger, and Leann Gertsma, recently received their Quality Matters certifications.  

                     
The Quality Matters program provides professional development, a set of rubrics, and a course peer review process that work together to support faculty in improving the quality of online and blended courses. Quality Matters has received national recognition for its faculty-centered approach to continuous improvement in online education and student learning.

Kayla Westra, Minnesota West Dean of Technology & Distance Learning comments, “Judy, Laine, and Leann have put in many hours on their courses since beginning this process last April. Their time and dedication is appreciated.”


The Minnesota Online Quality Initiative provides faculty and staff from participating institutions information and resources to promote quality course design and provides opportunities to build collaborative relationships and shared expertise through statewide collaboration. The primary goal is to improve the quality of courses and learning experiences for students in online and blended courses.
