Accredited Schools Online, a leading resource for online learning and college affordability information, has released its ranking for the 2015-2016 Best Online Colleges for Minnesota.

Minnesota West Community & Technical College was ranked second among two-year colleges in the state of Minnesota for 2015-2016.

According to a recent study by the Babson Survey Research Group, 26 percent of students in Minnesota are enrolled in at least one distance learning course.

“We wanted to recognize schools, like Minnesota West Community & Technical College, that are implementing convenient and cutting-edge technological learning opportunities to all students,” said Doug Jones, CEO and Founder of Accredited Schools Online. “These schools are not only offering exceptional programs, but they have expanded their program excellence to the much-desired online environment.”

Ranked schools meet a number of criteria and metrics, including:
 - Must offer an Associate’s degree or higher.
 - Must be a public or private, not-for-profit institution.
 - Must offer at least one fully-online associate’s degree program.

Accredited Schools Online has distinguished its ranking scale by the use of Peer-Based Value, or PBV. The PBV score compares the cost of each program to the cost of similar programs with the same qualitative score.
