Hooray for Minnesota West!

Minnesota West Community & Technical College recently received the IPEDS Data Feedback Report 2015. 


IPEDS is the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the U.S. Department's National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The system of survey components collects data from about 7,500 institutions that provide postsecondary education across the United States.


IPEDS collects institution-level data on student enrollment, graduation rates, students charges, program completion, faculty, staff and finances. IPEDS then compared Minnesota West to 29 similar institutions - medium, public, two-year colleges in the Midwestern states.



We are proud to share from the analyzed 2015 IPEDS collection of data:

  • Minnesota West graduation rates are 17% higher than the comparison group.

  • Minnesota West retention rates are 12% higher for full-time students and 24% higher for part-time students for comparison groups.

  • Minnesota West graduation rate of full-time, first-time students is also significantly 15-18% higher than the comparison group.
