Desire2Learn (D2L) Brightspace

Desire2Learn (D2L) Brightspace is the learning management system used at Minnesota West. It provides instructors with tools that allow them to use technology to interact with students. Online courses are set up in D2L Brightspace. Faculty with face-to-face and ITV courses use a D2L Brightspace site to enhance the classroom experience and provide access to materials/grades.

Faculty, if you are not in the system and need to be added, or if you need to set up a course within D2L Brightspace, complete an IT ticket > https://support.mnwest.edu/IT.

Faculty (including adjuncts) should also have access to the Teaching with D2L course.

 Log into ISRS now.
View Your Leave Activity

  1. Login with your tech id and password.

  2. Choose Position Information from the left menu.

  3. Choose Leave Accrual.

  4. Logout when finished.

Pay Your Account Balance

(such as, parking, tuition, and fees)

 Log into ISRS now.

  1. Login with your tech id and password.

  2. Choose Switch to Student e-Services in the upper right of the screen (yes, your account balance is under the student tab).

  3. Select: Bills and Payment (left menu), then Balance Due by Term.

    Note: Your information will include not just amounts from Minnesota West but also amounts you may have with other Minnesota State institutions.

  4. Select: Make a Payment (left menu).

  5. Select:  Minnesota West Community & Technical College.

  6. Enter payment amount and continue.

  7. You are now on the USBank Payment website. You have been automatically logged off your Minnesota West account.

  8. Choose payment method.

  9. Using credit/debit method: enter your credit/debit card information and complete the screens as presented.

    Using eCheck method: enter your account information. You will need to know your bank account and routing numbers.

  10. When you receive a confirmation number, be sure to print a copy for your records.

  11. Your payment should be reflected on your college account in the next few minutes.

  12. Debit and eCheck payment amounts will be drawn from your bank the following day. Credit card charges will be detailed on your next credit card statement.

  Review the overall/enrolled advisee list report, review student schedule, contact information and transcript, MnTC and DARS reports.

Class Management
Class/Roster List
  Log into e-Services to view a course listing of course(s) you are teaching in the current semester or courses taught in previous semesters.

Change Grades

D2L Brightspace Setup 
  Release grades to faculty application.

Wait List Report
  View the courses that are wait listed and the count of students.


Grade and Last Date of Attendance (LDA) Entry
Course List and Grade Entry
Posting Completed Grades 
  Post manually or import from D2L Brightspace.

Other
View your leave activity.

Pay your account balance (such as, parking, tuition, and fees).
