TMA Class Information
This 3-credit cohort (mainly online, three in-class meeting dates) course includes the study of legal requirements of medications and medication administration, general information on medications, terminology, abbreviations, applicable terminology, and an overview of body systems and drug classifications related to medication administration while utilizing designated reference sources.
Medications will be demonstrated in the classroom lab via the oral, ocular, respiratory, rectal, and topical routes. The students will study the ten major body systems and how they are involved in the pharmacology of drug use. Upon completion of the course and meeting federal and state guidelines, the student will receive a Trained Medication Aide Certificate.
All registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We will only allow 20 students in the class. Only COMPLETE registrations will be accepted.

- Administrative Rule Acknowledgement Form. (Applicable to Nursing Home ONLY). State certification does not apply. Requirements indicate we need proof of a successful CLASS completion, such as an unofficial college transcript. Please note that the student's AND the facility representative's signatures are required on this form. After signatures are obtained, no further documentation is required.
