Posted on September 08, 2025

WORTHINGTON, MN — Stargazers, science lovers, and curious minds of all ages are invited to gather under the night sky for the sixth annual Minnesota Statewide Star Party, taking place at the Minnesota West Community & Technical College Worthington Campus on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

This year’s celebration, themed “Aurora Voyage: Chasing the Northern Lights,” invites attendees to explore the magic of Minnesota’s northern skies and dive into the science and stories behind the aurora borealis. The event is free and open to all ages, making it a perfect evening for families, students, and anyone with a passion for the stars.

Telescopes will be available for public use, and guests are encouraged to bring their own if they have them. The star party will be held in the northeast corner of the Fine Arts Building parking lot, offering a clear view of the night sky and a welcoming space for community connection.

Presented in partnership with the Bell Museum, the Statewide Star Party is part of a larger initiative bringing astronomy events to communities across Minnesota. Whether you're a seasoned astronomer or simply curious about the cosmos, this is your chance to experience the universe in a whole new light.

Come for the stars, stay for the wonder.

If weather conditions are unfavorable, we'll share any cancellation updates on our social media channels. If you have questions about the event, please contact Instructor Paul Seifert at 507-372-3432.
