Gina was a State Trooper for the Minnesota State Patrol from 2017 - 2024 where she was assigned to the Marshall District. She obtained a Master’s of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from C.W. Post, Long Island University, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in International Business with a minor in Economics from King’s College, a professional certificate in Online Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she earned an Investigative certificate from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (B.C.A.). She also served with the United States Air Force Reserve as a Medical Specialist and Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T) for eight years. She completed law enforcement skills training at Hennepin Technical College and obtained a Peace Officer license through the State of Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) board.
 
During her time with the Minnesota State Patrol, she was a certified Crash Reconstruction and Forensic Mapping Specialist where she investigated numerous property damage, personal injury, serious injury, and fatality crashes. Responsibilities included all the normal duties performed by Minnesota State Troopers and additional responsibilities, such as crash reconstruction and forensic mapping, Field Training Officer, instructing training courses, and district recruiting. She served on the CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement) panel for the Minnesota State Patrol and is currently an active member of the American Association of State Troopers (AAST).
