Dan Bernstrom, an English instructor at Minnesota West Community & Technical College, is also a celebrated children's book author. Overcoming early struggles with reading, he channeled his passion for storytelling into writing picture books that resonate with readers of all ages. His works, such as Big Papa and the Time Machine and Good Night, Little Man, are inspired by his rich heritage and life experiences. Bernstrom’s dedication to both his students and his craft has earned him numerous accolades, including a $4,000 SMAC Artist Equity grant in 2024 and a nomination for the 2025 Star of the North Award for his book Song in The City.
