Faculty & Staff Directory
I was interested in a health career but I wanted to do something other than nursing. My sister is a dental hygienist and she talks highly of the dental field. I chose Minnesota West's dental assistant program because it was close to home. I received the Workforce Development Scholarship, which helped with the cost of tuition. The faculty and staff at Minnesota West made me feel comfortable and welcome. After graduation, I plan to work in the field for a few years and may return to school to become a dental hygienist.
AUBREY | Dental Assistant | Canby
Pressure to go to a 4-year college put me at SMSU, and I made it for 2-years before deciding that was not for me. I have always been drawn to energy and I am not afraid of heights. I saved up, applied, and registered for the Minnesota West Wind Energy Program and never looked back. Worked hard, received an internship from a local Wind Energy company and my future career is set up for me. Student Services and my instructor have been more than helpful and I will never forget the relationships I have made at Minnesota West.

Minnesota West taught me the value of STEM education with personalized attention and smaller class sizes. Excelling in challenging courses paved the way for a seamless transfer to the U of M. Starting at Minnesota West was a wise decision that significantly reduced my final student debt load.

JBS Better Future Scholarship made college more manageable financially, and the process was easy to apply for. I would recommend to all JBS employees and family.
ANDREA | NAIL TECHNICIAN | JACKSON
After my first college experience didn't work out, a family friend (Minnesota West Alumni) advised me to enroll in the Powerline Program in Jackson. And, in less than ten months, I was able to finish college early and get started with a new apprenticeship in the Twin Cities area. I had the opportunity to make life-long friends and connections and it has been fun to come back to Jackson to visit.
