March 29, 2024 - The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) has recommended the continuation of accreditation for the Practical Nursing (LPN) Program at Minnesota West following a routine visit this week. This encouraging news marks the completion of step one in a three-step process towards reaffirming the program's accreditation.

Despite facing challenges posed by inclement weather, the ACEN accreditation team successfully conducted its evaluation of the Practical Nursing Program. Utilizing virtual platforms, the team engaged with students on Tuesday, garnering valuable insights into the program's strengths.

The visiting team applauded the quality of the nursing program at Minnesota West, offering positive feedback. After a comprehensive review, the team confirmed the program's compliance with all five accreditation standards, underscoring its excellence in nursing education.

"This recommendation for continued accreditation is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, and students," remarked Dr. Dawn Gordon, RN - Dean of Nursing at Minnesota West. "We are immensely proud of the recognition upon our program and remain committed to upholding the highest standards of nursing education."
The recommendation for continued accreditation will be presented to two separate boards for final review within the next six months. A formal communication regarding the outcome of these reviews will follow after the conclusion of the process.
