September 6, 2023 – Major Madness is focused on helping 11th and 12th-grade high school students who are English language learners and/or first-generation college students. Providing them with opportunities for career and college exploration is essential for their future success.

Event Focus:

  • Provide guidance on the Financial aid application process and available scholarships.
  • Walk students through the college application process. Highlight the importance of deadlines and upcoming dates.
  • Help students feel more comfortable about the idea of attending college.
  • Introduce students to different career paths and the educational requirements for those careers. Encourage them to think about their long-term goals.
  • Provide resources and contact information for ongoing assistance with college applications, scholarships, financial aid, and career planning.

Creating a supportive and inclusive environment is crucial for the success of college. Major Madness addresses the unique needs of English Language learners and first-generation college students, we can empower them to pursue higher education and future career opportunities.
