In an exhilarating turn of events, the Minnesota West Community & Technical College Women's Basketball team has earned the No. 1 overall top seed in the upcoming National Tournament. Head Coach Rosalie "Moz" Hayenga expressed the team's excitement, stating, "We were pretty shocked, humbled and excited with so many good teams in the division. Pretty amazing thing for this team and our institution."

After an outstanding season filled with remarkable performances, the Ladyjays have earned their position in Division III women's basketball. Their exceptional record, teamwork, and dedication has propelled them to the frontline of the tournament rankings.

Minnesota West will hold a reception and official send-off starting at the Worthington Campus Commons Area on March 12 at 9 am to celebrate this achievement. Following the reception, the bus will depart the North Minnesota West parking lot at 10 am for a send-off around town.

Send-Off Bus Route: Turn right on Collegeway and proceed to West Lake Avenue. Turn right on West Lake Avenue and travel around the lake until the bus gets to 2nd Avenue. Traveling up 2nd Avenue and turn left onto 10th Street going 3 blocks to turn right onto 5th Avenue and continue until it turns into Humiston and follows straight to I-90. Map is provided below.

With the #1 seed secured, the Ladyjays have a first-round bye, affording them valuable time to rest and strategize before their highly anticipated matchup. Their next challenge awaits as they prepare to face the winner of the #8 seed, Prince George's Maryland, and the #9 seed, Rhode Island CCRI, scheduled to take place on March 13 at 2 pm CT.

Mark your calendars as the Minnesota West Ladyjays hit the court on March 14, at 2 pm CT. The team is geared up to return to Rochester and handle some unfinished business. The tournament will be held at the Rochester Regional Events Center in Minnesota.
