If you are the first generation of your family to have the opportunity for college, Minnesota West is offering a "College is for Me" program in June at our Worthington and Granite Falls Campuses. Free of cost to attend and we encourage first-generation students and English language learners of all ages with a High School diploma or GED to sign up.

Two opportunities are offered:
Worthington Campus | 1-Week, No Wednesday

Granite Falls Campus | 2-Weeks, No Wednesday's

The "College is for Me" program at Minnesota West focuses on key strategies, resources, and services at the college level; where programs are located; assistance with developing students' academic writing skills; and meeting our staff.

By providing a better understanding of college at Minnesota West, we can offer the first steps that support students of all backgrounds in their college goals. Preparing first-generation families and English language learners to thrive in the structure of a college environment.

The students will participate in career exploration, campus services, resources, and financial aid while becoming better acquainted with the Minnesota West staff. Students will also take a FREE 1-credit Freshman Seminar course and have assistance in developing their academic writing skills. Granite Falls program will work with ABE on reading, writing, and math skills.

Our "College is for Me" program is offered free of cost and we are limited to 15 students.
