October 27, 2023 – Minnesota West Community and Technical College is excited to announce its upcoming Instructor Development Course for current instructors. This comprehensive training opportunity is set to take place on March 5–6, 2024, at our Worthington Campus.

The Instructor Development Course is designed to provide peace officer program instructors with the tools and knowledge they need to excel in their roles. Participants will have the opportunity to earn 16 POST Board Continuing Education Credits at no cost. With limited space available, this is a unique chance for both novice and experienced instructors to enhance their instructional skills.

This no-cost course will cover fundamental concepts related to psychomotor skill instruction, including skill classification, motor and cognitive learning processes, and the impact of vision and visual cues on practice. The training will place a strong emphasis on adult learning and safety, ensuring that participants can assess different learning styles and improve their existing psychomotor skills programs.

Aligned with the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board, the Instructor Development Course is ideal for instructors seeking to elevate their teaching skills within the Police Training and Education program. It also presents a valuable opportunity for public safety instructors from various fields.
