Biotechnology Lab Technician Requirements
Biotechnology is the application of biological organisms, systems, and processes to learn about the science of life. The improvement of materials and organisms such as pharmaceuticals, crops and livestock are also studied in this program.
Biotechnology is a relatively new and fast-developing field that integrates knowledge from several traditional sciences including: biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology and chemical engineering.
Graduates work in labs related to industries including: pharmaceuticals, food processing, molecular biology, ag research and product analysis.
This fast-developing program emphasizes analytical skills, precision of procedures, measurements, accurate record keeping, and an understanding of manufacturing processes.
