Minnesota West Community & Technical College recently had the pleasure of preparing for its Program to Evaluate and Advance Quality (PEAQ) accreditation visit, and the leaders of the self-study effort had the opportunity to share their vast experience, advice, and encouragement with other Higher Learning Commission (HLC) colleagues going through the same journey of discovery, application, and communication. Discussion topics include distance delivery, multiple site accreditation, assessment, strategic planning, and institutional finances.

Jeff Williamson, Provost, Lori Voss, Vice President of Administration, Kayla Westra, Chief Information Officer, and Diana Fliss, Business Manager, attended the Annual Conference for the Higher Learning Commission in Chicago, IL, which provided an opportunity for campus administrators to obtain information on best practices, updates in accreditation, and networking resources. The presentation was entitled “Tidbits of Collective Wisdom on Preparing for a PEAQ Accreditation Visit."

In addition, Minnesota West Community & Technical College hosted an informational table called the PEAQ Self-Study Fair. It gave schools the opportunity to meet with representatives of institutions that had completed the self-study process in the past two years.
