Career Expo Event

The Southwest Minnesota Workforce Council Career Expo Event will be held Tuesday, September 23 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. at Minnesota West Community & Technical College, Worthington campus and Wednesday, September 24 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. 


The Career Expo features approximately 200 local businesses, organizations, and education promoting careers & industries to high school and college students. 


Over 2,000 students from the following high schools will be in attendance at the Expo:

The students explore career fields in the following primary areas:
•    Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources
•    Arts/Communications & Information Systems
•    Business, Management, & Administration
•    Engineering Manufacturing & Technology
•    Health Science Technology
•    Human Services


The students also participate in the Career Game Show learning more about job interviews, careers in Southwest Minnesota, and education.


Thomas Hoff, SW/WC Service Cooperative, Career & Technical Project Coordinator comments, “The Southwest Minnesota Workforce Council’s Career Expo is one of the largest business and education partnerships in the state which includes over 200 college, agency, and business volunteers serving nearly 2,000 high school students.   If a business wants students to know more about them and the careers they offer, then this is the event to attend!”
