All-Minnesota Academic Team 2018

Minnesota West would like to congratulate Morgan LeBrun, Scott Schneider and Chris Syphokham for being named to the All-Minnesota Academic Team

These students were nominated by staff or faculty to apply for the team.

The All-State Academic Team was introduced nearly 24 years ago to honor and to recognize two-year college students for their leadership, academic achievement, and community and college service. In 1994, state academic teams were introduced as a way to provide scholarships and scholastic recognition to Phi Theta Kappa members while promoting excellence at two-year colleges.  

Morgan LeBrun is a second-year student at Minnesota West, Worthington campus.  She is currently pursuing her RN degree, having completed her LPN degree last year. She plans to attend Southwest Minnesota State University in the fall to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing.  

Scott Schneider is a second-year student at Minnesota West, Worthington campus and will be graduating in May of 2018, after graduation Scott plans to further his education in engineering.

Chris Syphokham has completed an A.A. degree in liberal arts from Minnesota West, Pipestone campus and will be transfer to Southwest Minnesota State University to major in Music Education.

The students were recognized at a formal recognition ceremony on April 6 at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. The 2018 All-Minnesota Academic Team consists of 46 outstanding students throughout the state of Minnesota each student representing a Minnesota Community and Technical College.
