Scholarship Opportunities

Annual Fluid Power Scholarships

During the past year scholarships valued at approximately $11,000 were awarded to first and second year students.

 Scholarships for High School Seniors

 ·Fluid Power Educational Foundation – FPEF $500 Value

This is awarded to high school graduates with a 3.0 GPA or better.  Must submit a 300 word essay and two letters of recommendation by March 15.

                                                                   

Scholarships for All Incoming Freshman (Awarded Fall Semester)

 ·Work Force Development Scholarship

           All incoming fulltime students receive a $500 tuition credit for 2006 to 2007 in their first year and another $500.00 in their second year.

 ·Book Scholarships

Incoming Fluid Power students will receive $150 toward books for their Fluid Power Department classes during their first semester. 

 ·Technical Studies Scholarship

$300 received if enrolled in a high school with approved fluid power training or equivalent and received a grade of C or better.  Completed applications and high school transcript must be received by the first day of classes. 

 ·Math Scholarships

$300 received if enrolled in three years of high school math or equivalent (GPA of 3.0 or better).  Completed applications and high school transcript must be received by the first day of classes.

Several Scholarships for Current Full-time Students (Awarded in February)

 ·Fluid Power Education Foundation (FPEF):   Value – $500

 ·Company Sponsored:       Value – several @ $250 to $500

 *** The Fluid Power program scholarships may total up to $2,250 when you start in that program.  There are other general scholarships offered by Minnesota West Community and Technical College as well.
