Girls Take the Lead
Cosmetology students from the Pipestone Campus of Minnesota West were part of the December 12th kick-off event of Girls Take the Lead, a new organization started by Western Community Action in Marshall, MN. 42 girls and young women were treated to manicures and hairstyles from the Cosmetology students. After the 13-18 year-old students exposed their outer beauty they listened to a speaker who spoke of making the best of any situation that you are given.
Girls Take the Lead is a new organization that focuses on the empowerment of girls and young women, addressing issues women across the country face, such as domestic violence, preparing for college, peer pressure and addictions.
